15th November - Primary Leaders Award training at St Anne's for Year 5 Mr Corry's class; our future sports leaders have had a very busy day today with James Ralph from THYSF - they had to think what makes a person a good leader; what qualities you might need as a leader; they have signed a special contract - how they should behave as leaders; they have learnt about safety, how to plan a sporting event and how to lead it successfully - that was not an easy task but they've learnt a lot! Look out for some events in the future that they will lead for others!

They have learnt new games as well as went through the rules how to teach others and they are ready to start leading a club during lunch time. First some simple games but later proper tennis skills! Look out for some more photos later!

WHAT A DAY! OUR YEAR 3 CLASS REPRESENTED ST ANNE'S SCHOOL AT KWIK CRICKET COMPETITION - LOOK WHAT WE WERE UP TO :)
YEAR 3 KWIK CRICKET AT VICTORIA PARK
It has been a new experience for all of us and at first we felt a bit nervous but at the end we have learnt so much about cricket! Look what some of the children said: 'I felt so nervous before I began and then I was very confident. After I hit the ball with the bat the ball went very far.' Alisha 'I felt nervous at first because I never played it before. Now I feel excited to play again.' Samiel 'Today we went to a cricket competition. I felt nervous to play because I had no idea what to do. After, I started to understand everything and I did great!' Youcef 'Today I learnt that it is not about winning all the time, it is about having fun.' Yasmin 'I felt scared at the start but when I saw how to play I felt confident.' Marcel 'Today in cricket I learnt that if the person throws a ball then you hit it back and if you don't hit it you are out and then you have to swap places with the other person.' Rehoboth 'I liked it when we were batting and fielding. I got very active.' Tiann 'I liked the batting and bowling. I felt very excited when I went and when I came back I was surprised about my skills.' Abigail
All of the children said it was an exciting adventure, they had lots of fun and they tried their best - listening to them talking about cricket and using the key vocabulary I have no doubt it was a great learning experience and they are all motivated to learn it properly in Year 4!
Look at our batting skills!

Dear Mrs Cieslik,
What an amazing experience we all have had! It was wonderful, the kids were delighted and inspired by the event :) The rain didn't stop St Anne's spectators to cheer the teams all the way. With an excellent result of 4:2 to Argentina we even managed to have an autograph of the winning team defender Agustina Habif. Thanks ever so much for an excellent opportunity! we really are proud of our school! Frey
Nothing more to add - so happy our children could experience a bit of Olympic spirit at such a great venue!

What a day! Firstly, with a little worry that we may not be good at it… Then… After the first round – the children started believing in their tennis powers and the motivation and confidence has reached the sky!
There was no game without a point… some lost with 1 or 2 points difference, some ties and of course some games - WON!
St Anne’s Year 3 and 4 Children competed with pupils from 3 different schools!
Here is what they said after the competition:
‘Today I played tennis and… I loved it!’ Ren-nell, Miles, Ara ‘Today we went to a tennis competition and the best thing was that most of us won at least 1 game’ Helina ‘Today I enjoyed tennis, especially winning a game’ Karis ‘Today I had an amazing experience and I won 3 games’ Luiggi ‘The tennis competition was fun but very exhausting. Me and Ara had lots of fun but sadly we lost couple of games but at least we tried our best’ Olive ‘Today I was proud of myself because I won every game I played’ Cross ‘I really liked the last game because… I won!’ Ethan ‘Today we didn’t get through, though I think everyone played very well. I felt disappointed that we didn’t win (all the games) but it was only our first time’ Tyler )who won 2 games out of 4 ) ‘Today I played tennis and lost but we tried our best. 15 people in our school went and it was very fun!’ Youcef ‘I enjoyed playing the matches and I won couple of games. It was really fun.’ Hannah

They took part in many sports challenges, for instance: Tennis, Gymnastics, Football, Judo, Basketball, Rugby, Cricket and Hockey. At the end the best team got Sporting Diamonds medals! The sports coaches were looking at the children carefully to spot the strengths of the individuals in each sport. Every child that showed some talents in a specific sport will be recognised and invited to a sports camp to master the skills and represent the borough team during competitions and other sport events. Keep your fingers crossed that lots of Sporting Diamonds were noticed from St Anne's School. Enjoy watching the videos :)
We've had a FREE breakfast for all that cycled and scooted to school today. On top of that Year 4s had a smoothie bike workshop and made some delicious smoothies... That's not the end of the story... Sam - our Bike it officer was kind enough to let children make some more smoothies during morning break :)
Look at us making smoothies!!!
THYSF Sports Awards - Yesterday some of our future sports stars, their parents and Ms Harrison and Mrs Cieslik went to an amazing sport celebration event at Regents Lake Banqueting Venue. We were amazed how many sports you can take part in and how many successes you can have, being only a child or a teenager... Something to look forwards to for us - our motivation has reached the sky!
